PREMIUM DOT-CERTIFIED HELMETS | RIDE WITH CONFIDENCE
FAQs
Safety and certifications
Are HelvioX helmets DOT approved? Yes. All helmets sold on helviox.com are certified to meet or exceed the US Department of Transportation (DOT) FMVSS 218 safety standards. You can find the DOT sticker on the back of every helmet we ship.
What is the "one-impact" rule? Helmets are designed to protect you by absorbing energy through their own destruction. Once a helmet has been involved in an accident or a significant drop, the internal safety liner (EPS) compresses. This damage is often invisible but makes the helmet unsafe for future use. For your safety, always replace your helmet after any impact.
How do I know if my helmet is still safe to use? We recommend replacing your helmet every 3 to 5 years, even if it hasn't been in an accident. Over time, the glues, resins, and foam materials can degrade due to sweat, heat, and UV exposure.
